KATHMANDU: Expressing aid to Dr. Govinda KC’s demands and urging the government to store his life, hundreds of humans have converged at Maitighar Mandala and are heading to New Baneshwor.

Dr. KC is on his 22nd day of his fast-unto-death starvation strike traumatic reforms in the medical sector.

Nepali Congress parliamentarian Gagan Thapa, Sushila Karki, Manisha Koirala, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, Shyam Shrestha, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Karishma Manandhar along with others are current in the rally.

Despite popular support, Prime Minister K P Oli had already stated that he would no longer yield to everybody simply because “he is fasting”.

Although the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders had said that the government would maintain talks with Dr Govinda KC in the capital after admitting him to CCU, the authorities is but to translate phrases into action.

Dr KC’s key needs consist of passing Medical Education Ordinance added via the Sher Bahadur Deuba government as clinical training bill except making any changes.

The ordinance includes Mathema committee’s recommendations, such as banning opening of new scientific faculties in Kathmandu for 10 years, limiting a university from issuing greater than 5 affiliations and requiring scientific faculties to run their personal hospitals for at least three years earlier than getting affiliations. two
