Kailali chapter of Women Forum for Women in Nepal these days demonstrated in the front of District Administration Office seeking justice for 13-year-old Nirmala Panta who was once raped and murdered in Bhimdatta Municipality-2 on July 26.
Civil society, the business community, locals and among others participated in the protest organised by means of the Women Forum for Women in Nepal in Dhangadhi Sub Metropolis on Sunday.
The protesters chanted slogans towards the government accusing it of shielding the perpetrators via taking their guardianship.
The rally commenced from Chauraha of Dhangadhi from where the protesters held placard wore black armband earlier than convening into corner assembly in the front of the District Administration Office, Kailali.
On the occasion, the girls rights activists submitted the memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli through District Administration Office.
In the memorandum letter, they have urged the authorities to curb violence in opposition to women, find the perpetrators of Nirmala Panta’s rape and homicide and book them in accordance to existing laws.
Sushila Mishra Bhatta Central Member of Women Forum for Women in Nepal said, “The protest would proceed till the authorities finds the accused and books them.”
She added that the government should locate the perpetrators and take action against them to give justice to the 13-year-old victim.
