Nepali Congress obstructs National Assembly meeting

Kathmandu:  The main opposition celebration Nepali Congress on Monday obstructed the meeting of National Assembly claiming the authorities is preparing to dissolve two hospitals to be named after Congress leaders, Girija Prasad Koirala and Sushil Koirala.

The birthday celebration has been accusing the authorities of trying to scrap proposed Girija Prasad Koirala Respiratory Centre of Dulegaunda in Tanahun and Sushil Koirala Cancer Hospital of Banke as a current Cabinet assembly did not approve the Ministry of Health’s inspiration to maintain them underneath the federal government.

As quickly as the Assembly meeting commenced today, the opposition lawmakers stood up from their seats in protest.

They did no longer heed Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timalsina’s repeated requests to take the seats and let the legislative body continue its business.

Following the disruption, the assembly has been adjourned for 30 minutes, according to the Assembly Secretary Rajendra Phuyal.
