France is facing the worst recession since World War II, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maier has warned Monday, as it faces a nationwide lockdown to prevent a coronavirus infection. “After the global recession, France’s economic growth fell to 2.2 percent in 1945. The situation seems to be worse now, “Finance Minister Maier told the French parliamentary committee. He said the situation in France’s economic growth was declining, saying that he had communicated to the committee in a conversation with AAFP.  “Although we have projected economic growth rate to rise to 2.9 percent in 2020, the outbreak of coronavirus infection has worsened,” he said, “which is an indication of the magnitude of the economic shock we are facing.” France heading to the worst.
