Two US warships have begun exercises along the China-China border. This is the second time this month that two giant warships have practiced together. The US Pacific Fleet said on Friday that 12,000 US troops, cruisers and destroyers aboard the USS Ronald and USS Nimitz warships began exercises on the South China Sea border. The fleet said in a statement that two warships with more than 120 fighter jets were conducting air defense exercises. USS Ronald and USS Nimitz arrived in the South China Sea last month. This is the first time since 2014 that two warships have reached the disputed area at the same time. The exercise began on July 4, said Lt. Meanwhile, China has protested the presence of two warships. Earlier in July, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian accused the United States of trying to create tensions between the two countries and undermining peace and stability in the region by militarizing the South China Sea. Since then, tensions between Beijing and Washington have risen. Recently, the United States declared China’s claim to the South China Sea border illegal. This was denied by the Chinese embassy in Washington.  US warships began exercises on the South.
